In order to further expand this segment, the machine park was expanded to include a heavy multifunctional milling machine, which we were able to accompany on an exciting operation at the foot of the Grossglockner. The most powerful Fendt tractor is used as the workhorse: the 1050 Vario with more than 500 hp engine power and a massive 12.5 liter displacement. The 2.5 m wide milling machine is the top model from the Italian manufacturer FAE and was developed for breaking rock and asphalt, but also for soil stabilization. With a rod, the tractor pushes a tank truck with water in front of it, which is pumped directly into the housing of the milling machine via a hose. This cools the tools on the one hand and ensures that the milled material binds on the other. A second Fendt tractor with a milling machine breaks the material down to an even smaller grain size so that it can be better incorporated into the road surface.
