The glacier was named after the geologist Karl Ivanovich Bogdanovich. This glacier is the most accessible for tourists from Almaty. To get to the glacier, you need to come to the Medeu skating rink, take the cable car to the Talgar Pass, and then walk. The 4-kilometer trail does not have difficult or long climbs, so you can get to the open part of the glacier in less than 2 hours. The glacier is visited from December to February, when the weather provides low temperatures, in other months it is less safe, since the glacier is alive and can start moving at any time.
