Right at the beginning you climb 700 meters. The climb alone is worth it. The Latemar Mountains are breathtaking. On the way to the Gamsstallscharte we pass through a fantastically beautiful rock labyrinth. And then we enjoy the view from the high plateau of the Latemar. Then we go through the basin to the Rotlahnscharte. This is where the Campanili via ferrata begins. It runs within the Latemar towers. The route is advertised as taking 1.5 hours to the bivouac hut. Attention: not to the summit! From the bivouac hut to the summit it is another hour. We walk back the normal route and hike to the Latemar hut, the Torre di Pisa hut. First we go through the stony basin and then we climb up to the hut. This path becomes spectacular again. You need to be sure-footed here too. We pass the leaning tower and then we are at the Latemar hut. Now we need another 1.5 hours down to the train station. The tour is quite demanding and requires stamina.
