Kupyansk once again found itself in the midst of hostilities in the east of Ukraine. Shelling, drones and airstrikes have become a part of everyday life in the city. The situation is complicated by the breakthrough of the Russian army on the defense line and active fighting near the city. About 4,000 residents still remain in Kupyansk, despite calls for evacuation. The city is a strategically important point on which the security of the Kharkiv region depends.
