The Supreme Federal Court rejected and archived the criminal complaint that former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro filed against federal deputy Erika Hilton. Michelle accused the parliamentarian of insult and defamation for comments on social media. The case began in March, and Justice Luiz Fux had rejected the accusation because he understood that Erika Hilton's statements are protected by parliamentary immunity. Justice Gilmar Mendes, of the Supreme Federal Court, ordered the closure of an investigation against federal deputy Aécio Neves. The case investigates alleged failure to declare expenses in the 2014 electoral campaign. The justice considered that the investigation took too long. The investigation was opened in 2020 to investigate facts that occurred a decade ago. Furthermore, the case is not in its final phase, nor has sufficient evidence been presented to justify filing a complaint.
