#siliconesculpture #retrosciencefiction #textstorm There are intuitions that force us to venture into hidden areas of our personality. Juan PeZtana is the kind of artist who, as soon as he has an intuition, goes in search of the materials and techniques that allow him to give body to that reality that he senses. He makes ambiguous objects and shapes visible, always surprising with ideas that seem contradictory. Recently he has ventured into sculptures that seem taken from retro science fiction adventures and paintings based on collages that disguise situations with very diverse materials and techniques such as Collages without paper; paintings on canvas encapsulated in plastic; dark paintings in acrylic resin on fabric; paintings that use resin, cement and toner; soft silicone figures and space creatures taken from retro science fiction works; Sculptures made from welded and ground iron rods, in some cases chrome-plated, which are sometimes just lines of a drawing whose support is space and in other cases resemble wood, fabric, leather, among other materials from which everyday objects are made; compositions from recycled materials; inquiry into the durability of materials; are some of the experiments in constant ebullition that arise from the restless fantasy of Juan PeZtana, Juan (PEZ) Pestana (Peztana), an artist who is not afraid of the most diverse materials that he recreates, studies and incorporates into his works to achieve ambiguous, extravagant effects, forms and concepts that make us doubt the quality of the objects he presents to us.
