One of them is Gerhard Fischer. He is a gardener with heart and soul and while others have fun on the rollercoasters, he looks after the greenery. For Gerhard Fischer, it is the mixture of natural idyll and vibrant life that inspires him every day. The head of the cleaning crew Heidi Schmidt is one of the most important people in the park. The head of the cleaning service always has a lot to do - especially these days, meticulous hygiene is of the essence. Everything has to stay clean during the day too - nothing should spoil the fun in the park. A total of 140 employees work in Europa-Park's cleaning service. Despite her work, Heidi Schmidt always makes time for her employees. It is important to her that her employees enjoy coming to work. The residents When Bernd Maurer moved to Rheinhausen 35 years ago, it was still quiet and tranquil. Now the main road in front of his house is often congested at rush hour. Most park visitors arrive by car, and this is noticeable in the neighborhood. He fears that traffic will continue to increase in the future. But people also benefit from Europa-Park: new jobs, new residential areas. But when plans for a cable car to Alsace through the middle of the nature reserve became public two years ago, the residents founded a citizens' initiative. The plans are now on hold, but Bernd Maurer will continue to monitor the expansion plans critically. The park manager Without Thorsten Marohn, nothing would run at the amusement park: as park manager, he holds all the threads together. With 13 roller coasters, 100 rides and 15,000 visitors, he has his hands full - especially under corona conditions. Fun and caution must go hand in hand to prevent the virus from spreading. Thorsten Marohn is also the contact person for technical problems. Coordinating, controlling, making sure the shop runs smoothly - that is exactly Thorsten Marohn's dream job. The pastor He is also constantly out and about in the park: Andreas Wilhelm. He is one of the two church pastors who talk to people in Europapark and offer an open ear for worries and needs. Andreas has been in Europapark for 15 years and has found his calling here.
