20200527 Nampo Church Sunday Service Sermon Jeremiah 11:9-17 Revised Standard Version 9 Then the LORD said to me, “There has been rebellion among the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 10 They have turned back to the iniquities of their fathers, who refused to listen to My words, and have followed other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant that I made with their fathers. 11 Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, I am bringing disaster on them that they will not be able to escape; and though they cry to Me, I will not listen. 12 When the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry to the gods they burn incense, they will by no means save them in their trouble. 13 As for the number of your gods, O Judah, according to the number of your cities, you have built for them altars to your shameful things, altars to burn incense to Baal. 14 Therefore do not pray for this people, nor make a cry or supplication for them, for they have When they cry to me because of their trouble, I will not listen to them. 15 What has my beloved done in my house, seeing she has plotted many wicked schemes? Will the sacred meat be enough to avert your calamity? Will you then rejoice? 16 The LORD calls her by her name, A green olive tree, goodly fruit; but in the midst of a great tumult they have kindled a fire on her, and her branches have been broken off. 17 The LORD Almighty has pronounced disaster on her, because of the wickedness of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, who have burned incense to Baal, provoking me to anger.
