GoPro was one of the most well-known startups in the world, as it dominated the action camera market in the early 2010s. But after its IPO in 2014, things only went downhill for the company. They tried to become a subscription media company and slowly lost their brand presence and innovation edge to cheaper Chinese alternatives like DJI. To make matters worse, GoPro had to issue a very embarrassing recall for its drones and the company's CEO was paid the highest salary in the world. All of these missteps eventually caught up with GoPro and caused the company's stock to collapse by over 98%.
