Inversion: Navigating against the tide in an uncertain world #1/3 All videos of the course: • Inversion - Olivier Hamant - Course pu... As we enter the era of the shift predicted by the Meadows report to the Club of Rome, sustainable development solutions seem well outdated. What if inversion opened up other creative, hidden or counterintuitive paths to meet the major challenges of our time? Faced with the impasse of our current socio-economic system, revealed by the multiplication of shortages, geopolitical and social tensions, ecological turbulence, could we reverse our economy, our law, our traditions, our culture... in a word, our world, and achieve another balance? How can the lessons of life help us in this inversion? Olivier HAMANT (France) ---------------------------------------- Biologist, researcher at the plant reproduction and development laboratory (École Normale Supérieure de Lyon). At the border between biology, physics and computer modeling, he has published around a hundred scientific articles, notably on the form of plants and associated biophysics. He has received numerous awards including the “young researcher” laurels from INRA, the “La Recherche” magazine prize, the Paul Doisteau - Emile Blutet prize from the Academy of Sciences, and the Schlumberger Foundation prize for education and research. He is also a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). In parallel with this research work, Olivier Hamant leads training activities on humanity's new relationship with nature, within the framework of the Michel Serres Institute.
