Intervention with people with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) through cognitive stimulation techniques and the strengthening of social skills is essential to promote social integration and inclusion, as well as increase their functionality. This approach focuses on the development and improvement of specific cognitive functions such as attention, executive functions, memory and language. Simultaneously, work is done in the area of interpersonal skills, necessary for adequate social adaptation. Therefore, intervention on the cognitive functions and social skills of people with ID is a fundamental aspect to increase their functionality and quality of life. Taught by: Elisabet Doña López Psychologist specialized in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. She has developed her professional career with people with functional diversity and has also participated in research projects. Her professional career began in research projects with people who had suffered a stroke, carrying out intervention models. She has carried out her professional practice by carrying out cognitive and behavioural assessments on people with functional diversity (intellectual disability and borderline intellectual functioning), some of these people with comorbidity with ADHD, ASD, among others. In turn, she has also carried out specific cognitive assessments and neuropsychological interventions for cognitive stimulation, social skills and emotions. In 2022, she participated in the International Virtual Congress of Psychiatry, Psychology and Mental Health Interpsiquis in relation to the cognitive assessment of people with functional diversity. She currently collaborates with the Institute for Research and Innovation (I3PT) of the Taulí hospital in the investigation of the variables that modulate the emotional state in critically ill ICU patients and their families. In addition, she also dedicates her professional activity to university teaching in Psychology and collaborates with ISEP in the development of teaching materials in various master's programs.
