WE GO DOWN THE SERRA DA ROCINHA IN A KOMBI MOTORHOME! We left the city of São José dos Ausentes in Rio Grande do Sul, we needed to take the BR285 highway to go down the Serra da Rocinha and arrive at the next city Timbé do Sul/SC, the highway in the fields above the mountain is still under construction, with many holes and rocks along the way, when we arrived at Serra da Rocinha we noticed that the works are 99% complete, only a landslide in the mountain is still pending in the work, because due to the heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul in May 2024 the land gave way and a barrier fell, obstructing the road, but it is not closed and you can travel through the mountain. We passed by Vale das Trutas in the middle of the highway, a beautiful farm that raises trout for sport fishing, it also has cabins for rent and a restaurant, but we visited the Juvenal Waterfall that is inside the property. *Discover Vale das Trutas: http://valedastrutas.com.br Arriving in the city of Timbé do Sul/SC we went to see the largest waterfall in the city, known as Cachoeira da Cortina, it has a 50-meter waterfall, but to get to the waterfall you have to go on foot. We left the Kombi Mel parked but there was no one there, the phone signal didn't work and neither did the GPS. We started the trail following the signs, but we were scared when we realized how far the start of the trail was. We thought we were lost and there were no signs along the trail. We walked almost 1.5KM until we reached a sign that informed us about the descent into the forest to the waterfall. We went down through the forest and managed to find the waterfall, which gave us great relief!! It was quite a scare, because we thought we might be mugged in the middle of the trail, or that something might happen to our Kombi Mel. After we returned to the city, the locals informed us that the trail is safe, but since we passed by on a weekday, there were no tourists. We are going to live and travel in the Kombi for a long time, taking a great trip!
