If you are tired of roller shutters that are difficult to operate, a roller shutter motor is the solution. Let's get started: Installing a roller shutter motor with instructions! 1. Installing a roller shutter motor - opening the roller shutter box (0:16) Start by opening the roller shutter box. To do this, take a carpet knife and carefully run along the roller shutter box. The screws on the cover are now visible and can be loosened with a cordless screwdriver. Over time, dirt accumulates in the roller shutter box. You can easily remove this using a vacuum cleaner. 2. Installing the roller shutter motor (1:00) Now the actual installation of the roller shutter motor begins. To do this, first lower the roller shutter completely. Disconnect the roller shutter curtain from the shaft and remove the manual drive. This is where the roller shutter motor control will be installed later. Simply pull the roller shutter curtain over the shaft through the roller shutter box. Push the new curtain back in in the same way. Then take the shaft out of the roller shutter box and remove the belt pulley and the roller sleeve. Now mark the center of the bearing in the roller shutter box. This will help you when installing the new bearing. If the shaft is too long for the new bearing, shorten it to the correct length with a metal saw. The roller shutter motor is then inserted flush into the shaft. First insert the shaft into the roller shutter box with the side of the roller shutter motor. We recommend having the following electrical work carried out by a specialist. This will install a flush-mounted box in the former belt box and can connect the motor and the switch to the power supply. 3. Setting the end points (3:32) When the electrical work is complete, you can slide the stainless steel brackets into the shutter and run the motor down until it switches off automatically. You have now set the lower end point of the roller shutter. Now re-mount the stainless steel brackets on the shutter and let the roller shutter run upwards until it stops automatically. You can see how to set the upper end point in the video. 4. Setting the end points with a comfort roller shutter (4:51) The end points are easier to set with a comfort roller shutter. Let the roller shutter run upwards until just before the upper stop. Press the upper setting button when the desired end point is reached. Do the same with the lower end point. You can then reattach the cover of the roller shutter box. 5. Control with the timer (5:51) Controlling the roller shutter is even easier using a timer. By pressing the two buttons at the same time, you get to the menu and can set the timer. There you can program the times at which the roller blind should go up and down.
