PT BR - She is a descendant of the Macuxi people, an indigenous population that inhabits the border region between the Guianas and Brazil. A PhD student in Theory of Literature and the organizer of the book “Literatura indígenas brasileira contemporânea: criação, crítica e recrutamento”, her research contributes to dispelling misconceptions with new perspectives on the indigenous peoples of Brazil. Julie shared with us the importance of indigenous literature for the encounter with our ancestry, and the need to review the official history that hides the history of indigenous peoples.
