In her inaugural lecture 'Mental health and sustainable employability in work', Prof. Dr. Evelien Brouwers addresses the question of what is needed to help people sustainably and vitally work and keep them there, especially when there is 'mental ill-being'. Brouwers states: "There is enormous potential for improving the sustainable employability of people with mental health problems, but to achieve this we need to look at health, illness and sustainable employability in a different way. We are currently going through a major shift in thinking, but not everyone is there yet. In my speech I will explain what this shift in thinking entails, and what its effects are on health, sustainable employability and well-being in work".
