In the thirteenth episode "Crying in the fen" of the documentary drama series "In the footsteps of Karađorđe" of the educational science program RTS, the people and events of the year 1813, which was the most tragic for Karađorđe's insurgents, the people and the state, were illuminated. Noticing the preparations of the Turkish army, which was preparing from all sides for the final showdown with Serbia, on July 4, 1813, Karađorđe sent a call for the mobilization of all able-bodied men from 17 to 70 years of age, for the sake of Serbia's absent defense. From the summer to the fall of 1813, Serbia persistently defended itself on all fronts, but due to the tactical mistakes of the Serbian leaders and discord, the Serbian defenses fell on all four sides before the superior Turkish army of about 300,000 soldiers. Serbian trenches and fortified cities fall one after the other. The leader of the insurgents retreats in disarray. About 6,000 of them cross the Sava and the Danube, and many people flee after them or into mountain retreats. On September 21, 1813, Karađorđe himself left Belgrade in pain and went to the Fenek monastery. The people and the weak in Serbia who did not escape, the islanded Turks slave and torture, rape, abuse, sell in the markets... The balance of the uprising autumn in Serbia is disastrous; over 100,000 people perished or disappeared and freedom was stifled, but the germ of the first libertarian uprising soon spread to the second in 1815.
