Every year thousands of farms close in Austria, according to the latest figures from Statistics Austria. There are currently 110,000 farms, compared to 170,000 in 2005. A frightening structural change that is also visible across the EU. What does this mean for society when there are fewer and fewer farmers and less and less food is produced in the country?
