Recently, there has been an unidentified strange text message that is being sent only to iPhone users. It is a part-time job advertisement text message targeting adults. With awkward Korean that seems to have been translated by a machine and a suspicious link, it is not a text message that anyone would be 'fished' by if they were just a little careful. However, this text message has one very noticeable feature. It is not a regular text message, but uses iMessage, a messaging service that only Apple users can exchange. Spam text messages using iMessage are very rare these days, so there was a rumor that even just receiving this text message could result in your iPhone being hacked. However, the bottom line is that this rumor is not true. Using a spyware called 'Pegasus', your iPhone can be hacked just by receiving text messages or files included in the text message, but this 'Pegasus' tool is only used by very limited organizations. In fact, the Omokgyo Electronics Shopping Mall team checked the iPhone that received the text message using iOS device management software to see if it was infected with 'Pegasus' and found that it was not infected with the spyware. Does that mean all the problems are over? No. Because we still don't know who sent this weird iMessage to iPhone users.
