About :

Maria Alice grew up thinking that she couldn't make her dreams come true because she was a poor black girl. She lost her mother when she was still a child, was raised by her older sister, and began working as a maid to help out at home, and that's how she got on with her life. Maria Alice's mother's early departure left her feeling very helpless, despite the affection of her family. Her companion was the music of the Beatles, which she learned to like by listening to her uncle's radio. There she began to dream of going to Liverpool to see the place where the quartet was born, but she never imagined that she would realize her dream. In her early adulthood, she became pregnant with her first child and became a single mother. In order to raise her son without depending on anyone, she began to iron clothes for others and take online classes. During this time, she met her ex-husband, the father of her two youngest daughters. Although he was a companion who shared her love of reading, music, and art, he was an alcoholic and drinking kept him away from Maria Alice and also from work. The burden of taking care of the house fell on her shoulders. When she saw that he was beyond help, they separated. She spent years working in other people's homes and suffering a lot of prejudice from employers who wouldn't even let Maria Alice eat. But there was no way around it; she had to put food in the house and put up with the mistreatment to do so. When she was older, Maria Alice started washing school desks during the holidays. The effort, combined with her years as a maid, led her to the operating table due to a problem with her spine. In the hospital, she contracted a very serious infection and was between life and death. The doctors could no longer see a solution for her case. But Maria Alice could not leave without fulfilling her dream of visiting Liverpool and proving that that poor little black girl, who listened to Beatles songs without even understanding the lyrics, could also make it there. Maria got better, was discharged from the hospital, and her children spared no effort to make their mother's dream come true. They took her to England, where she saw all the tourist attractions associated with the Beatles, from the pedestrian crossing on the cover of the Abbey Road album to John Lennon's house. Maria Alice managed to make her biggest dream come true. And today she tells her story so that other black women never stop dreaming!
