Where in Central Europe did a nation with such a different language and culture come from? In his lecture, historian Andrej Tóth summarizes the history of Hungary from the arrival of the Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin to the present day. It focuses primarily on the transformation and characteristics of its identities in the course of history and the socio-cultural specifics of Hungarian society in comparison with other parts of Central Europe. It is devoted not only to understanding the specifics of today's Hungary and its society, but also to the often close connection of the Czech-Hungarian story. The event takes place as part of the Faces of Europe festival (www.tvareevropy.cz).
