Boris Cyrulnik is a doctor, neuropsychiatrist and psychoanalyst. Mainly known for his work on resilience, it is from his personal story that he draws his greatest strength. Boris' story is as incredible as it is moving. He was born in 1937 into a Jewish family. He was separated from his deported parents, taken into public assistance and then hidden by a resistance fighter. On January 10, 1944, 1,700 Jews were arrested. Boris was one of only two survivors, saved by a nurse he found years later. His lifelong work on resilience has allowed him to highlight a major discovery: it is never events that determine your life, it is how you decide to react to them.
