In this tutorial I will explain how to paint a portrait with watercolors step by step and in a simple and easy way. If you are starting out in the world of watercolors or you are a beginner, it is a challenge as an exercise to start with, but do not be discouraged because you will be surprised by the results. Learn to paint a face with watercolors PORTRAIT WITH WATERCOLOR IN 8 STEPS Before starting, we will wet the paper on both sides and let the excess drain by tilting the support. 1. LIGHT TONES. We reserve the lights, leaving the paper raw. 2 warm tones and 1 cold one (cerulean blue). 2. MEDIUM TONES. We build the volumes with a violet tone. 3. MEDIUM TONES OF THE HAIR AND THE SCARF. 4. GLAZE OF REDDISH TONES. Cadmium yellow + carmine + ultramarine blue. 5. WE PAINT THE BACKGROUND. Carmine and ultramarine blue 6. DARK MIDDLE TONES IN THE HAIR. They serve as a base before the maximum darks. 7. DARK TONES. We define the final shapes 8. WE ADD THE LIGHTS with titanium white gouache. Also some more saturated reddish tones.
