Welcome to Cooking with Jop! In this video I share an authentic recipe for Vietnamese spring rolls, a classic dish from Vietnamese cuisine. This dish is perfect as a snack in between or to share at a party. Follow the step-by-step instructions and enjoy a delicious meal full of flavor and with a pinch of salt! Ingredients: Filling: 500 grams of chicken thigh fillet 100 grams of so-oen 600 grams of (winter) carrots 250 grams of onions 250 grams of bean sprouts 2 teaspoons of sugar 2 teaspoons of ve-tsin 3 teaspoons of salt 100 grams of spring roll wrappers 1 tablespoon of flour oil for frying/deep-frying Sauce: 175 ml of water 100 ml of natural vinegar 100 ml of ginger syrup 100 grams of sugar small tin of tomato puree (70 grams) 1 teaspoon of ve-tsin pinch of salt 2 tablespoons of cornflour Instructions: Step 1 Cut/chop 500 grams of chicken thigh fillet into very small pieces Step 2 Boil a 100 gram pack of so-oen (glass noodles) for 5 minutes, drain, rinse with cold water, drain and cut into small pieces of approx. 3 cm Step 3 Grate 600 grams of (winter) carrot with the coarse grater grate, chop 250 grams of onion very finely and cut 250 grams of bean sprouts into pieces of approx. 1 cm Step 4 Mix everything in a large bowl and add 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of ve-tsin and 3 teaspoons of salt Step 5 Defrost a package of spring roll sheets and fill them. The easiest way is with the filling in a piping bag. Pipe the filling with a length of 15 cm and a diameter of 2½ cm. Roll up the spring rolls and stick them together with a paste of flour and water Step 6 Fry the spring rolls in hot oil or in a deep fryer, or freeze them Spring roll sauce: Step 1 Mix 175 ml water, 100 ml natural vinegar, 100 ml ginger syrup, 100 grams of sugar, a small can of tomato puree (70 grams), 1 teaspoon of ve-tsin and a pinch of salt in a pan and bring to the boil while stirring Step 2 Make a paste of 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and half a cup of water and add this while stirring. Let it simmer gently for another minute Cooking is fun. Indian food is delicious. Other cuisines are also interesting. And the nice thing is: it doesn't have to be difficult to make it yourself, you just have to know how.
