Debts are part of the lives of many Brazilians, and are seen by many as something normal. According to statistics from the CNC, 72.9% of Brazilians have some kind of debt; on average, 30.4% of the monthly income of families is committed to debts; and 25.6% of them have debts in arrears – that is, they are in default. For these people, credit cards and overdrafts are almost an extension of their own income, as they allow themselves to be tempted to consume more in the present in exchange for facing difficulties in the future. Having debts may be something common, but it should never be seen as normal. So, if you want to understand the reasons why so many people get into debt, what the negative consequences (including emotional ones) are that this situation entails, and what you can do starting today to get out of debt, don't miss the 31st episode of the podcast “Os Sócios”. To talk about this subject, we have the presence of Tiago Brunet and Patricia Lages, who shared their personal experiences with debt and the path they took to get rid of it.
