Changing the oil in an automatic transmission is necessary for the car to work properly. If we don't do it, it can jerk, not accelerate or even wear out the gearbox to the point of breaking it. Changing the oil in a manual transmission is not something that needs to be done so often, but it is still advisable to do it every 100,000km to take care of the gearbox.
