“How much blood must be shed for you to extend your protective hand to us?.. Tell us, Europe, tell us: how many more sacrifices must we make to convince you of our love?” – this is an excerpt from a famous letter by Nino Kharatishvili, a Georgian writer living in Germany, which was published in the German publication “Frankfurter Allgemeine” in early December, precisely in those days when riot police were beating up participants of a pro-European rally on Rustaveli. Nino Kharatishvili has been sharply responding to the developments in Georgia since the beginning of the protests – she also notes in this interview with Radio Liberty that it is unthinkable for her to sit at home and write books today, when the future of the country is at stake. She says that the noise with which we attract Europe’s attention should not stop and she hopes that Georgia will never become either Russia or Belarus, because the Georgian people are not afraid. -- 🔸 See more news, analysis, interviews and much more on our website 👉🏻 https://www.radiotavisupleba.ge Follow us 👇🏻 On Youtube 👉🏻 http://tinyurl.com/5ek3z4e3 On Facebook 👉🏻 http://tinyurl.com/yc84b2x3 On Instagram 👉🏻 http://tinyurl.com/2cb8w3wp On TikTok 👉🏻 http://tinyurl.com/3skhv3ws On Threads 👉🏻 http://tinyurl.com/bddphfyp
