Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in Farbus, a small village in the north of France. It is 7:15 p.m. when John Szablewski calls the police completely panicked. His wife Laurence Maille, 36, disappeared while she was walking her dog. The pet will be found, alone, wandering 7 kilometers from the couple's home. What happened? Voluntary disappearance, kidnapping or murder? The only lead investigators have is given by Laurence Maille's colleagues. The day before her disappearance, the young woman left work in a hurry, pretending to have a severe stomach ache. When questioned, her partner specifies that the next day Laurence stayed in bed at home. In the afternoon John Szablewski says he went to get some medication for her and that she was no longer there when he returned around 6 p.m. There is no reason to believe that the husband is lying. John and Laurence seemed to be a united and loving couple. And then the husband moves heaven and earth to find the one he loves. However, the tearful companion will quickly become the main suspect when the police discover that he has suddenly sold jewelry belonging to his wife. When questioned, John Szablewski admits to having buried his wife's body in a nearby wood. The case seems closed until the day when investigators learn of an anonymous letter sent by a mysterious crow.
