Inaugural lecture by Jean-Jacques Hublin given on January 13, 2022. Jean-Jacques Hublin is a professor at the Collège de France and holder of the Paleoanthropology chair. Jean-Jacques Hublin is a paleoanthropologist, author of numerous works on the evolution of Neanderthals and on the African origins of modern humans. He played a pioneering role in the development of virtual paleoanthropology, which makes extensive use of medical and industrial imaging techniques, and computer science to reconstruct and analyze fossil remains. He is also interested in the evolution of growth rates and brain development in hominids as well as the history of his discipline. A visiting professor on the international chair since 2014, he became the holder of the Paleoanthropology chair in 2021.
