Prof. Antonella D'Arminio Monforte, specialist in Infectious Diseases, talks to us about HIV infection. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, she specialized in Infectious Diseases at the same University, where she also specialized in Pediatric Clinic. Prof. Antonella D'Arminio Monforte was Full Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Milan, Department of Health Sciences, Clinic of Infectious and Tropical Diseases until December 2022; currently retired. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she was responsible for coordinating research activities within the clinic. In addition, Prof. Antonella D'Arminio Monforte has had extensive experience in the management of specialization and doctoral schools, with positions at the University of Milan. Prof. Antonella D'Arminio Monforte has worked as director of the Infectious Diseases complex structure at ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo - Polo Universitario San Paolo in Milan. Here she assumed the responsibility of coordinating all research and assistance activities of the UO, as well as activating and coordinating infectious disease consultancy activities at the other UOs of the ASST, contributing significantly to the development of medicine and surgery in her sector. Currently, the professor is actively involved in the coordination of a national cohort of patients with HIV infection and participates in check point activities for the prevention and diagnosis of HIV infection in the city of Milan.
