He holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Darcy Ribeiro State University of North Fluminense (2001), a master's degree in Social Policies from the Darcy Ribeiro State University of North Fluminense (2004) and a PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2009). President of the Brazilian Association for Social Studies of Science and Technology 2021-2025 (ESOCITE.Br), Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Sociology at the University of Brasília (UNB) and head of the sociology department at the University of Brasília (UNB). At the same university, he was a tutor for PET-Sociology. He was also deputy editor and editor-in-chief of the Sociedade Estado Journal. Researcher at the Center for Studies in Knowledge Circulation (CECIC/UNCUYO/AR) and Leader of the TATA-Knowledge, Science and Technology Group (CNPq). He has experience in the areas of Sociology of Science, Knowledge, Environmental Sociology and Social Theory with an emphasis on Social Systems Theory. He works mainly on the following topics: Knowledge production and the center/periphery difference; technology and society; scientific hierarchies; internationalization of science.
