I've been driving a Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i for 30 years, bought new in 1992 (now replaced with a Weber). Today I drove along the Nasu Highway from Kuroiso to Toge no Chaya. The weather was fine, but there was a strong wind, and the ropeway was not operating. It was early November, but it seems that the autumn leaves are still a while away.
