Germany, Acid Homeland is a film shot in 1979 in Berlin, the capital of East Germany at the time, starring Hülya Koçyiğit and Rahmi Saltuk. The film, starring Hülya Koçyiğit and Rahmi Saltuk, was shot under difficult conditions. The cast of Germany, Acid Homeland; Hülya Koçyiğit, Rahmi Saltuk, Suavi Eren, Mine Tekgöz, Fikriye Korkmaz, Bedri Uğur, Sabahat Gönül, Veysel Pala Güldane, a factory worker who has become a robot only aiming to earn money, and Güldane (Hülya Koçyiğit), who came to her village from Germany to take her husband's leave of absence as a formality, meet Mahmut (Rahmi Saltuk). Mahmut, who lives with dreams of Germany, proposes to Güldane in exchange for money and land. Mahmut's aim is to go and settle in Germany through such a formality marriage. They get married and go to Germany together. Thinking of nothing but saving money, Güldane leaves Mahmut when they arrive in Germany. While Mahmut is left alone in a foreign country, Güldane gradually becomes a robot in the factory where she works. The German police catch Mahmut, who is wandering around, and hand him over to his wife. This union does not bring anything new. Because Güldane's indifference towards her husband continues. But in the end, she is forced to approach Mahmut in order to get rid of a Turk who has been bothering her for a long time. Thus, the tension between them ends and they truly become husband and wife. Mahmut only goes to pubs with his wife's money and engages in womanizing. Mahmut is indifferent to Güldane's pregnancy. After all these events, Güldane rebels against her husband's attitude and especially against the automation system that turns her into a machine.
