A few weeks ago, I started a new section on the channel about games and activities that help babies develop. Child development is a subject that really appeals to me and that I think is always worth addressing. As I've said in previous videos, the idea behind this series is not to create activities that turn our children into super babies or anything like that – after all, I'm in favor of respecting each child's time and not rushing things – but since I know that many mothers are looking for ideas on how to spend quality time with their children, how to have fun and get closer to them in a simple way without too many paraphernalia, I thought it was worth producing content with very simple, practical and fun tips on this subject. At this age, babies are not only staying awake for much longer, they are also going through a phase in which they are developing a lot and also learning new skills. So, it's only fair to offer them incentives so that they can develop and learn in a fun and playful way. Offer them little cloth books: babies love touching soft and light objects. So, how about offering them little cloth books? At this stage, they can already hold objects better and move them. If they get used to the shape of a book, it will be easier for them to develop a taste for reading later. Well, at least I think so. The more I can introduce my children to reading, even when they are babies, the better. Move the baby back and forth: Move the baby back and forth, gently, while he is sitting. This helps to train the support of the trunk. Place the baby on his tummy and make eye contact with him: Babies love eye contact and, as I mentioned in the previous video, this exercise of placing the baby on his tummy helps to strengthen the muscles of the chest area. To help with this, you can place a roll or a thin pillow under the baby's chest and under his arms to provide better support. Move the baby gently from side to side: and, when doing so, when he turns over, make an excited sound, such as “Oops!”, “That’s it!”, etc. In other words, encourage him. Even though he is so young, he can already capture our reactions and enthusiasm. Let the baby roll over: Place the baby on safe surfaces, with attractive objects nearby, so that he becomes interested in rolling over and getting closer to these objects. Let the baby choose the toy: Sit him in the baby seat or bouncer or lay him down on the bed, leaving several toys nearby so that he can choose which one he prefers and how he wants to play. Play hide-and-seek: Play hiding your face with a diaper or hide the toy to see if he looks for it. Give the baby a teether and toys that he can put in his mouth: At this stage, they feel, discover, and experience the world through their mouth. This is what we know as the oral stage. So, there is nothing more interesting for the baby than to receive objects to play with that he can put in his mouth and feel different textures and even temperatures through them. Talk a lot to the baby: and observe if, in the middle of the conversation, he participates by smiling or making some sound. Play games with the baby's fingers: take each of the fingers and count "one finger, two fingers, three fingers, etc... and gently pull the finger from the base to the tip.
