Remembering the tranquil time I spent at Tokusa Onsen, a hidden hot spring in Oku-Aizu, Fukushima, 10 years ago, I set off on a trip to the hot springs of Oku-Aizu. From Yunohana Onsen in the former Tateiwa village of Minamiaizu Town, I had a rare char tempura set meal at Kanemaru Shokudo in Minamiaizu, then headed to the rock baths of Tokusa Onsen, a thousand-year-old hidden hot spring that also appears in Yoshiharu Tsuge's manga, and stayed at the inn I had stayed at before.
