Thai Kae and Danish Kjeld got married 10 years ago without knowing each other beforehand. The two have now stayed together through thick and thin and they have a little son, Mads, together. Kae's Thai teenage son, Mark, whom she once had to leave in Bangkok, has also come to Denmark. Here he struggles to find his place and get an education as a chef. But it is not easy to settle in when you have difficulty with the language and miss your father in Thailand. Kae's sister Mong and her Danish husband John form a natural meeting point for the Thai-Danish couples in Thy, not least when Kae and Mong's father come to visit. He will now be installed among garden angels and Buddha statues in North Jutland, from where he can observe his daughters and grandchildren's new lives in Denmark.
