The film you can see here is from the small community of Grytnäs just outside Avesta in Dalarna. It was made in 1941 and mainly deals with the winter season with forestry, winter fishing and more. From the 1940s onwards, it became increasingly common for each town or parish to make a self-respecting film that depicted everything from everyday life, traditions, work and crafts to nature and phenomena that distinguished their own place.
