This episode features a true mid-century modern architecture legend! There is nothing too much in this detached house where Melda and her family live in Long Beach, California. The house, which has a relatively small indoor area, was actually designed so that families could spend as much time outdoors as possible. Cliff May thought of this in 1954 and imagined a life by taking into account California's climate and the socio-cultural realities of the people who would live here. This is the second house in the 'California ranch house' category in the apartment. We have previously shared with you the living space of Melda's twin Melis and her family. This house is also in Long Beach, in a neighborhood where there are only 200 mid-century detached houses built by Cliff May. Melda and her husband preserved the house as they bought it and brought it to the present day, changing almost nothing. In this sense, it is very valuable for us to be able to share with you a completely original architectural wonder in America, California!
