At just 8 years old, he won a scholarship to Athens College, where he remained for a decade. Then his talent for learning led him to Houston, Texas, where he earned degrees in chemical engineering and law. America became his new home, where he built a successful career and a beautiful family. Despite his success in America, Greece never left his heart. He visits his home country as often as he can, sometimes even 3-4 times a year. His pride in his Greek origin is evident, as is his love for his place and his village. In our discussion, Mr. Tasos shared his thoughts on the differences between Greece and America. He recognized that America offers opportunities to everyone, while in Greece it is often necessary to make the right acquaintances to advance. Despite the challenges facing our country, Mr. Tassos will never stop loving and visiting Greece, a testament to his deep connection to his roots.
