Contact: [email protected] – Freemasonry, which I am associated with, is a movement with very democratic structures – he says on Radio Naukowe, Prof. Tadeusz Cegielski, historian and Freemason, when I ask him about the historical merits of Freemasonry. - Some historians claim that the democracy of the United States owes its existence to a large extent to lodge organizations. They became popular thanks to a well-known figure, Benjamin Franklin, a printer, publisher and Freemason, who founded the first lodge in the American colonies - he adds. A strong ritual sphere is characteristic of Freemasonry. - This is what distinguishes a lodge from a social club, that here you operate through ritual. You become a member not by signing up and paying dues, although dues have to be paid - emphasizes Prof. Cegielski - but through initiation, i.e. the rite of initiation. You will hear the main assumptions of the rite in this episode! CATHOLIC MASONRY? We associate Freemasonry as a movement combated by the Catholic Church, at first it was not like that at all. In England, after the Stuart dynasty lost power and four failed coups d'état, the situation of Catholics was terrible. They were completely deprived of all rights, including the right to worship. A Catholic could not send his children to school, he could teach them privately, he could not be a party in court - says the historian. - Freemasonry was supposed to bring Catholics back to action and for this reason it was supported by the papacy. It took well over 50 years to change their minds about Freemasonry, because the popes thought it would be a useful tool in the fight against the Protestants, the Hanoverian dynasty - adds Prof. Cegielski. FREEMASONS COULD RULE THE WORLD And do the Freemasons rule the world? - They do not rule, but if they did, the world would be a bit better - answers the guest of Radio Naukowe. This is a special episode of the podcast, in which historical threads intertwine with contemporary and personal ones. There is also a behind-the-scenes look at a political action that may have decided the political fate of Poland! ????
