Frederick II, also known as Frederick the Great or the Old Fritz (* 24 January 1712 in Berlin; † 17 August 1786 in Potsdam), was King of Prussia from 1740 and from 1772 King of Prussia as well as Elector of Brandenburg and came from the noble House of Hohenzollern.
