The water has receded, revealing the enormity of the destruction caused by the flood in September 2024 in the southwestern part of Poland. We talked to residents of Stronie Śląskie, Lądek-Zdrój, Trzebieszowice, Kłodzko and Bardo, among others – all of whom are appealing for help. What we saw on site is hard to describe… Buildings destroyed by the element, overturned cars, washed-out roads and broken bridges are just a small part of the tragedy of people living in flooded areas.
