#FlexibleInlet #HosesForMixer In this video we will look at how to choose hoses for supplying a kitchen or washbasin mixer tap, in case of replacing hoses, or when buying a new mixer tap. You will learn in which cases hose replacement is required and what to pay attention to when choosing flexible hoses. Emergency situation. 2. When any manipulations were carried out with the hoses. 3. When the service life of the hoses has expired. Design of flexible hoses. At one end of such a hose there is a nipple and a union nut 12 or 38 inches with one rubber gasket for connection to the water supply. And at the other end there is a nipple with an external thread M10 and with sealing rings, there can be one or two rings. The number of rings does not depend on the mixer, that is, in the same mixer you can screw a hose with one rubber ring or two, that is, they are interchangeable. In terms of quality, flexible hoses can be very different: from expensive stainless steel hoses to cheap ones in silumin braiding and with a silumin nipple and silumin nut, or they can be with a brass nut and nipple, but the rubber hose inside the braid is of poor quality. The silumin braid decomposes from condensate and, as a result, the hose bursts. Such hoses usually come complete with inexpensive mixers. We recommend buying hoses with rubber in a stainless steel braid, with brass fittings and a brass nut. They are not the cheapest, but not expensive either, that is, the best value for money and will last 5-6 years, or maybe more if you don't pull them too much. Before buying a flexible hose, be sure to measure the distance from the M10 thread on the mixer to the water supply thread on the spot. If the hoses are longer than necessary, that's okay, the main thing is that they are not short. When installed, the hose should be free, that is, not stretched or too bent, that is, you can bend it, but not too much. The hoses that are sold complete with the mixer are often not the right length. For example, you need an 80 cm hose, but the hoses included with the mixer are 40 cm long. Fittings. If the mixer has M10 threads for hoses that are too close to each other and if you screw hoses with the same fittings into it, they will interfere with each other and you won’t be able to screw them in. A pair is used for such mixers, that is, one hose with a short fitting and the other with a long one. Such mixers are usually fastened with a nut, that is, the body thread diameter of 34 does not allow the threads for the hoses to fit at a sufficient distance from each other to fit two hoses with the same fitting length. It is more convenient to screw in a pair like this: first a hose with a short fitting, then a hose with a long fitting. And to unscrew the opposite way, first the long one, then the short one. And this mixer is fastened with studs, here the distance between the threads for the hoses allows you to screw in hoses with the same fitting length. In any case, buying a pair of long-short fittings you won’t go wrong. Now let’s take a closer look at mixers with deep threads for hoses. These faucets come with hoses with extended nipples, but these hoses are quite short and may not be the right length for you. But here another problem arises - you buy a pair of hoses of the right length, but it will not be easy to screw them in because you can get to the edges of the long nipple, but you can only get to the short one with a 90 ° wrench, and you may not have such a wrench. Two ordinary hoses with long nipples also cannot be screwed in. The way out of this situation is to buy special extensions that are screwed in with a 6 mm Allen key, then you can use a pair with a long and short nipple. Also note - the hose nipples should have well-defined wide edges, this is important so that it is easy to screw or unscrew with a standard 10 open-end wrench.
