To enter Chile, you do not need a passport, just the documents listed below (this may change depending on the month, before making your trip, research the necessary documents again): - ID or passport within the validity period (the identity must be less than 10 years from the date of issue); - SAG Declaration (form that you need to fill out to declare whether you are entering the country with any product of animal or plant origin. The Declaration can be filled out online, and is also available in paper at the Santiago airport); - Proof (can be in reais, with a bank statement) of 46 dollars per day of travel (immigration did not require proof or ask anything about it); - Travel insurance is not mandatory, but I recommend it (there are some very cheap ones, costing less than 100 reais). - The language of the country is Spanish, I am not fluent and understand very little (or almost nothing), but it was very easy. - At immigration they only asked me where I would be staying and the flight number. - The snow clothes were rented for only 60 reais per day (kit with goggles, boots, coat and pants) one day before the trip at @alojadeneve - Including airfare, lodging, food and tours the total cost was approximately R$5,500.00. - This was my first time on a plane (smooth trips and no turbulence) and it was my first international trip. - Traveling by plane for the first time was a unique experience. - On the way there, I bought a window seat on the right side of the plane (it was beautiful to fly over the Andes Mountains - we didn't encounter any turbulence). - I traveled with LATAM, the check-in process was done online, I didn't check my bag, I found the security/X-ray process at the airports (Londrina, Guarulhos de Santiago and Congonhas airports) to be very easy (I recommend arriving early, as I had to wait in line at all of them) and going through immigration in Santiago was also very easy. If you want to travel by plane for the first time, and you want to travel alone, then this video is for you! I hope this video encourages you to make your dreams come true.
