A fire on the 6th floor: Young people save neighbors and trigger a major alarm! A heroic moment: A group of young people discover a fire on the sixth floor of an apartment building. Without hesitation, they inform the neighbors and dial 112. Their quick reaction sets an impressive rescue operation in motion - and that is exactly what the new film by the Buchholz Volunteer Fire Department on fire safety education shows. A gripping insight into an emergency What happens when there is a fire? How do the fire department, police and rescue services work together? The new, approximately 13-minute film answers these questions impressively. The premiere took place on June 8th in the Movieplexx in Buchholz - the cinema operator Carsten Reck generously made his cinema available for this. Modernized and more exciting than ever After 25 years, the previous film was completely revised and re-produced to meet today's requirements. In close cooperation with the police and the German Red Cross (DRK), an educational and exciting film was created that draws viewers directly into the action of a rescue operation. From the first alarm at the breakfast table to the departure of the emergency services and coordinated firefighting, the film shows the course of a fire service operation in a realistic and exciting way. A film for the future This film was made with an important goal: It should be shown in fire safety education in the future. At the end of the fire safety education project, the schools visit the fire service to teach children and young people life-saving behavior in the event of a fire. How do I behave correctly? Where do I report a fire? How do I support the emergency services? All of these questions are answered clearly and impressively. Fire safety education has a long tradition in all parts of the city and is continued on an ongoing basis. "It is very important to us to keep fire safety education up to date and to make it accessible to all age groups. With this new film, we want to reach the younger members of our community in particular and teach them in a clear way important rules of behavior in the event of a fire," says Joachim Behnke, initiator of the new and old films and himself a fire safety educator for many years. Many thanks go to the rescue and fire department control center in the Harburg district, the DRK district emergency service Harburg-Land, the Harburg police station and Peter Heinrich Albers. Special thanks go to Lukas Thamm - himself a member of the volunteer fire department - who took on the editing and post-production of the film himself.
