The Kalpa Division withdrew almost without a fight on June 27, 1944, from Uusiselkä, Hiilisuo and Latva in Äänislinna towards Jessoila, Nuosjärvi and Topasjärvi. At that stage, the Finns remained in delaying positions. At Nuosjärvi, Topajärvi, Vieljärvi and Kolatselä, the Finnish soldiers had to experience the heaviest artillery, rocket launchers, tanks and ground combat aircraft fire of the Continuation War. Due to the superior equipment and manpower of the Red Army, the Kalpa Division withdrew to the old border and from there via Käsnäselkä towards Loimola. At the U-position, the superior attack of the Red Army was stopped. From the end of July until September 1944, the fighting was similar to trench warfare. The photographs in the video are mainly from the war archive; I have processed them into color images using photo editing programs. #Äänislinna #Jessoila #Nuosjärvi #Topajärvi #Vieljärvi #Kolatselkä #Käsnäselkä #Loimola #
