The family tradition of farming and hospitality in Mačice, in the beautiful foothills on the border of the South Bohemian and Pilsen regions, away from all industry and major traffic arteries, was founded in 1900 by the great-grandfather of today's owner, Jan Mačl, by purchasing a local inn and eight hectares of land. His followers managed not only to continue this tradition, but thanks to a successful modern business expanded to include agritourism, they managed to turn the originally rather neglected Mačice into a sought-after place for tourists.
