From the Matterhorn to the Engadine, the train takes its guests on an unforgettable journey across Switzerland. The legendary Glacier Express winds its way over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels on its eight-hour journey from Zermatt to the sophisticated town of St. Moritz. On its route, the train travels through the breathtaking landscapes of the cantons of Valais, Uri and Graubünden. The journey with the Glacier Express begins in the Valais mountain village of Zermatt below the Matterhorn. The train travels through the Matter Valley past Visp and Brig. It then continues through the Goms and the Furka Tunnel to the canton of Uri. On a short detour to the historic Furka Railway, we meet Michaela Rapp. The young German has turned her passion for railways into a career and works for the Rhaetian Railway in Chur. After the Glacier Express has left the Urserental and Andermatt behind it, it travels over the Oberalp Pass to Graubünden. Between Disentis and Chur, the train finally passes through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Here, railway photographer Tibert Keller lives in a former railway guard's house and shows how he takes his spectacular photos. After the train has crossed the world-famous Landwasser Viaduct between Chur and Filisur, we meet Armin Brügger and his colleagues from the "Club 1899" in Samedan. The gentlemen restore historic locomotives and trains with a lot of love and passion. A little later, the Glacier Express's journey ends at the station in St. Moritz.
