A special ceremony was held at Eskişehir 1st Main Jet Base Command for the F-4E Phantom fighter jets that have been used successfully in the Turkish Air Force for 50 years. We were in Eskişehir for the event that started with a flyover over Sarıyar Dam. We viewed both the special Turkish flagged aircraft and the demonstration flight. Retired General Ergin Celasin, the commander of the first F-4 squadron, talked about those days. The ceremony was evaluated by Prof. Dr. Serhat Güvenç and Levent Başara Tolga Özbek. We also remembered with gratitude Turkey's first aviation photographer (spotter) Emin Fındıklı, who passed away last year, at the ceremony.
