Forestry work is physically demanding and dangerous. The drought of the last summer, storms in the autumn and, not least, the strong spread of bark beetles make the forest a workplace prone to accidents. With the Woodcracker grapple saws and cutting heads from Westtech, this work is easier, more efficient and, above all, safer because people no longer have to work in the danger zone. We visited various customers in Austria and Germany and accompanied them as they worked with the camera: a retired farmer who thins the forest with a Weidemann farm loader and a Woodcracker cutting head and a forestry contractor who uses a grapple saw on his self-built logging trailer. We also stopped by the company “Landschaft in Form” again, which is currently clearing a steep slope, and we visited the Ramer tree service, which uses a Magni telehandler to remove large trees.
