What is the State Development Plan (LEP for short)? It represents an overall concept for the spatial organization and development of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It forms the basis for an economically, ecologically and socially balanced spatial and settlement structure and coordinates the demands on the use of space. Accordingly, sustainability-oriented state planning is important. In addition to some positive approaches, the draft LEP does not give enough weight to the key challenges. In particular, adaptation to the effects of climate change is neglected.
